Tim-Carol Group of Schools today had the honour of receiving the Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, who paid an official monitoring visit to the school during the ongoing 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Professor Adelabu was accompanied by the Oyo State NECO Coordinator, Mr. Ademola Adesola, alongside other NECO officials, as part of the Council’s nationwide monitoring exercise aimed at assessing the conduct of the examinations and ensuring compliance with established standards.

The visit took place at Tim-Carol Group of Schools, No. 18, Ogo-Oluwa Estate, Salawu Street, Opposite Welfare Hospital, Old-Ife Road, Ibadan, and coincided with the English Language Examination, one of the core papers in the 2026 NECO examination timetable. This provided the delegation with the opportunity to observe the examination process.

A Warm Welcome from the School Community

The NECO delegation was warmly received by the Director of Tim-Carol Group of Schools, Mrs. Bunmi Adeyemi, alongside the Principal, Mr. T. O. Alamu, members of staff, and students.

Also present to receive the delegation was Venerable I. O. Akinade, M.A.I.E. (Master in Intellectual Education), the Rt. Principal and Rt. Venerable of the Anglican Communion, who serves as one of the administrators of the school.

The visit reflected the strong collaboration between Tim-Carol Group of Schools and key stakeholders committed to advancing quality education in Nigeria.

Inspection of Examination and Learning Facilities

During the visit, Professor Adelabu and the NECO officials toured several important facilities within the school, including:

  • The NECO Examination Hall
  • The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre
  • Students’ classrooms
  • Other academic and learning facilities

The delegation monitored the conduct of the English Language Examination and assessed the school’s compliance with NECO examination guidelines.

Commendation for ICT Development and CBT Readiness

One of the highlights of the visit was the inspection of the school’s ICT Centre.

Professor Adelabu expressed satisfaction with the impressive level of ICT development at Tim-Carol Group of Schools, noting that the institution has embraced technology to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment. She commended the school for successfully implementing Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for its internal examinations, describing it as a commendable step towards modern educational practices.

Speaking during the visit, the Oyo State NECO Coordinator, Mr. Ademola Adesola, together with another NECO official, observed that Tim-Carol Group of Schools possesses the necessary facilities, infrastructure, and enabling environment required to establish a NECO Computer-Based Test (CBT) Examination Centre.

Their remarks further affirmed the school’s continuous investment in digital learning and educational innovation.

Addressing staff and students, Professor Adelabu emphasized the need to uphold the integrity of public examinations by discouraging every form of examination malpractice.

She encouraged candidates to remain focused, prepare adequately, and rely on honesty and hard work, stressing that genuine success is achieved through discipline and integrity.

She also commended the orderly conduct of the examination and the professionalism demonstrated by the school’s management, teachers, and examination officials.
